Located in Portland, Oregon, Stubby Pencil Studio was launched in 2006 by Kate Rosenthal, after she realized there was a need for eco-friendly, do-it-yourself stationery products for young children. Her inspiration - twin daughters and the thank you notes she created for them to send to family and friends.

Stubby Pencil Studio offers two lines of eco-friendly cards, printed on 100% post consumer waste recycled stock.

I particularly liked the Color 'n Kids™ cards. They are back to basics with clean, bold illustrations for children to color and practice tracing their letters. They are perfect beginner do-it-yourself card making and feature no cartoon or commercial images. Goodbye, Hallmark.... Hello, Stubby!

What could be more personalized and unique than cards colored and decorated by mine or your little one. The cards come with various designs on them like a Fish or a Ship that are blank and are just begging to be colored. I was tempted to snatch one or two away from my son and try my own hand at them! What's even better - all of their cards are printed to order and may be customized.
