Land's End Backpack Giveaway [ Part of Bloggy Carnival ]

Created - 8/02/2008

*** sticky post, scroll down for newer posts ***
Just recently, when I was asked for a pre-schooler backpack recommendation, I did some research online, checked out various Mom Boards and discussions, took in the different points of view - both Moms' and Teachers'. The one backpack that met most specifications was Land's End's! I've always been a fan of this store and in my family, we all love their well-made, classy clothes. Even Mr. Bookworm!

So, I sent off my email recommendation and thought nothing more of it. And then, believe it or not, Land's End invited me to be part of their Back-To-School event. And..... {insert drumroll} .... sent me a backpack to try (the one you see on the left!)! Coincidence???? Apparently so! I still can't quite believe it, even as I hold this beautiful creation of form and function in my hands!

In addition, I have a free shipping code to share with you, my readers!

FREE SHIPPING CODE: Good from July 24-30
Code: BACKPACK
PIN: 2784

What's even more wonderful is that Land's End has generously offered to give away a backpack to one lucky reader of this blog!!!

Cordura® StudyHaul Backpack is made for kids who are tough on packs, and let's face it, most kids are! Some highlights:

  • Side pockets have compartments for all their supplies
  • Stash pocket keeps smaller items handy
  • Wide-opening top is easy to load
  • Made of Cordura® nylon
  • Reflective trim helps make them visible
  • C-shaped padded shoulder straps fit kids better
  • MP3/CD player pouch & cord port for tunes
It's made of Cordura nylon, which resists tears and abrasions better than other standard pack cloth. In fact, it's three times more durable than standard polyester, and two times more durable than standard nylon. The pack is also made for ultra-organizers. Compartments on both sides give them plenty of pockets for all their school supplies and more. Plus, an exterior stash pocket gives them a handy place to store a light jacket, notebook, or book. A big main compartment stores plenty of books. Dimensions are: 17"Hx13 1/2"Wx6 1/2"D. And it can be spot-cleaned. Retails for $39.50 and comes in these colors: Garnet, Dark Cobalt Blue, Berry, Black and Vintage Olive. Land's End also offers the convenient option of getting the backpack Monogrammed with your child's name, initials or more.

I love love love the various compartments, including the handy-dandy MP3/CD player pouch & cord port. No having to poke a hole or leave an exterior compartment half un-zipped for the cord to come through. There's space enough to hold a lot of things and the padded shoulder pads make hauling it around a breeze. In fact, I may even ditch my diaper bag for this sleek backpack! That is, if I can pry it from Mr. Bookworm's besotted hands first!

So, make our generous sponsor Land's End, a must-stop on your Back-To-School shopping expedition. Just a few clicks from the comfort of your home and quality products will be winging their way over without you ever setting eyes on the crowd, let alone facing the mad crush of parents in the throes of back to school shopping. Don't forget to make use of my free shipping code (above). It's valid until end of this month.

"Ergo Backpack!" It is supposed to fit to a child's back and be more healthy for their back. Please enter me in your drawing. I appreciate it!

FeatherLight Backpack in Rich Red really stands out. My daughter needs a new backpack, and we were looking for one that while it might be a bit more spendy, will hold up for the whole year, and maybe beyond. Buying new ones every year seems a little wasteful to me.

This is a WONDERFUL prize! I have a high schooler who could really benefit from this. With all the books and projects they have to tote around in high school this back pack I am sure will go the distance. I have always wanted to get him one but finances just weren't available. This would be such a blessing to us. Thank you for hosting this give-a-way!

I also thought the Lands' End MultiTask Backpack looked like a winner.
